I have been engaged in a life-long study of successful people, asking them what it is that makes them good at what they do.  Some look at me like I am speaking an unknown language.   Others have the answer at the tip of their tongue. One of my  favorites was the renown cardiologist who said,

"What makes me good at what I do?
I always remember to look at  the big picture, and
I never forget to pay attention to the smallest detail."

I am at my best identifying the optimal way to fill the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. My biggest accomplishments have come from taking on new projects that have no success model to follow. By leveraging base skills and tapping into subject-matter experts, I have developed a broad spectrum of successful solutions.
By far the best working relationship I have is with a certain colleague, in a synergism that I call "fuel-and-engine."  He has the dreams and the ideas--and the ability to articulate them in a way that resonates with me.  That is all the fuel I need to start my engine and bring the dream to life.

Independently, fuel or an engine is only potential. Together, they produce results.
